Embodying your wildness is really just about coming home to your most authentic nature. Opening up to your deepest longing. Praying your most sacred prayer. Saying yes to your wildest dreams. Deciding for yourself how to be, live and love!

There is WISDOM in this. Powerful, deep, age old wisdom.

Women's wildness is women’s wisdom!

*More important info about Wildness & Wisdom *

Wildness & Wisdom is a camping retreat, located in a dispersed camping area in in the Tahoe National Forest. It is a walk-in unimproved campground. We are responsible for packing in and packing out all of our gear and waste. We will meet at the trailhead and walk as a group to our base camp. The hike in is easy, and accessible even for beginning campers. That said, this retreat is not ideal for those with significant physical limitations or are actively healing from mobility related injuries. You will need to be able to carry your backpack containing your camping gear, clothing and food for b-fast and lunch. The prevailing wisdom is to pack light. Also, we are close enough to the parking area that you can make a second trip back to your car if necessary. Once at our basecamp, you will have time for group or solo day hikes, which cover a range of terrain (easy to advanced) for the beginners and experts alike.

Stephanie Purnell, one of the facilitators, is an experienced expert wilderness guide, who has been leading similar trips for groups for over 10 years. She is CPR and Wilderness First Responder Certified. She will be on hand to support all camping, safety, and wilderness awareness needs. We will have two volunteers on hand to help those who are new to this kind of experience. This experience is an opportunity to push new edges (safely) and to explore new terrain, inwardly and outwardly. If you have been wanting to do a camping trip like this but have maybe been a bit unsure, this is an ideal, safe and expertly facilitated way to get your wilderness legs, as they say. Or, if you are an avid backpacker, but are wanting to explore nature as more than just another mountain to summit, this is an ideal opportunity to slow down and connect more deeply with your inner terrain, in the midst of nature’s magic and wonder.
